Air

I touched a MacBook Air last week! According to rumour there are only a few in the country (New Zealand) right now, but one was being displayed at an Apple display for new students at the university I work for.

Some devices transcend mere descriptions and feature lists. The iPod Nano is one which I raved about in a blog entry "A Thing of Beauty" about 10 weeks ago. I think the Air is the Nano of computers. It doesn't have as many features as some of its competitors, but it does what it is designed for perfectly. It is just beautifully designed and its so light and small, but the screen and keyboard are still very usable. It surely is another thing of beauty.
