You might need to start an Apple Silicon Macs in safe mode
Safe mode is a simplified option at startup which loads only the basic essentials. It can be useful for diagnosing faults, especially when the machine won't boot normally.
Apple Silicon Macs are the models, starting about 2020, which use the new "M" series processors, such as the M1, M1 Pro, and M2.
To start in safe mode... Turn the Mac off, let it sit powered off for 10 seconds Press and hold the POWER button until you see the Options screen Press and hold SHIFT key and choose "Continue in Safe Mode".
