Aramoana

Aramoana is a small settlement near the mouth of Otago Harbour. It is most famous for an incident which occurred in 1990 where a local resident went on a rampage shooting and killing 13 people. Apart from that unfortunate reputation it is an attractive area.

This photo was taken from the Aramoana side of the harbour looking across to Taiaroa Head on the other side with its 150 year old lighthouse.
