The Pelorus river is a popular recreation spot on the road between Nelson and Blenhiem at the top of the South Island.
This graphic suffered a bit of blurring during the JPEG compression process but the original is extra sharp and the full range from deep shadow to fully lit is covered well. Like most photos, this one benefitted from the cloudy overhead conditions which gave more even illumination. The hand rail provides a hard foreground object which contrasts with the soft vegetation beyond.
