The Remarkables (the mountain range in the background here) are always a good subject for photography and the blue of the sky and deep blue-green of the lake add a bit of color to the scene. This picture was taken near sunset so that the foreground is in shade. The darkened trees add a frame to the picture but don't detract too much from the real subjects - the lake, mountains, and sky - which might happen if they were fully lit.
This picture has a limited range of color and the exposure is perfect (thanks to spot metering on the Canon EOS-5). The water of the lake is lit by reflection from the sky - there is only a limited time when the right conditions exist for this sort of scene.
