(Up to OJB's Warbirds 1996 Page) Mock Attack on the AirfieldTwo Harvards, which were part of the force "attacking" the airfield. Various aircraft, including Mustangs and Spitfires, were dispatched to repel the invasion. They were successful, but only after much strafing by machine guns and numerous explosions of the attackers' bombs. Somebody must have had a lot of fun setting up the "pyrotechnics" for this routine. The timing of the explosions was quite good. Also, the valley below the level of the airfield was a useful place for aircraft which had been "shot down" to disappear into. I think this is one of the better photos I took at this show as well - its nicely detailed, and it seems to have captured that fireball perfectly!
