File Sharing with Sharepoints

Sharepoints is a shareware Mac OS X preference pane which allows configuration of the built-in file sharing system. Mac OS 9 has a more flexible file sharing ability than X, but that is mainly because Apple didn't provide a simple interface to configure Mac OS X's sharing, not because the sharing system itself is deficient. For example, in Mac OS X each user is given a shared folder but you can't configure additional sharepoints.

Sharepoints overcomes these problems. You can set any folder as a share point and set the owner, group and public access. It is also possible to configure general sharing paramets such as: greeting message, idle disconnect time, logging information, ports and activating the Appletalk protocol.
