Trees Beside a Southland Road

This is a photograph of some fairly typical Southland Farming country. I can't even remember where exactly this is taken. I sometimes go through phases where I have the camera sitting on the car seat next to me and just stop and jump out if I see a pleasant scene somewhere.

There's nothing too spectacular about this photograph. I think it is just a pleasant simple composition. The trees subtly frame the intense blue sky (more great Southland weather) without being too artificial. The limited range of colors (blues and greens) comes back to the common theme of most of my favourite photographs, subtle ranges of hues without having every colour imaginable present.

There was plenty of light available here so using a deep field was possible (approx f/13) ensuring everything from the grass at the front to the distant hills are in focus.
