Garage Project Pernicious Weed

The colour was slightly cloudy amber orange, with a light frothy head, and light carbonation. The aroma had very crisp bitterness and citrus fruit. There was orange and malt fruit, crisp citrus grapefruit, and medium bitter hops. This beer had quite complex well balanced flavours, and was crisp and bitter. Here is the brewers description: The arrival of hops to the brewing scene in England in the 1500s led to a moral panic, hops were described as "a Wicked, & Pernicious Weed", feared to bring the downfall of civilized society. Thankfully, they were right. Pernicious Weed is a celebration of the NZ-developed hop varieties Nelson Sauvin and Rakau. Huge grapefruit flavour in a worryingly drinkable strong IPA.

Note 1 I am not really a beer expert (just an enthusiastic amateur), so please don't take my recommendations as anything more than a rough guide to these beers. I can take no responsibility if you buy a lot, on my recommendation, and then regret it!

Note 2 You may not agree with my evaluation of these beers as a lot of this is quite subjective. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on freshness and intense characteristic flavours and bouquet, so if you disagree you might just have different priorities.
