(Up to OJB's Styles Page) Riccadonna Asti 1998Tasted: | 25 Dec 1998 (age 1 year) | Name: | Asti Riccadonna DOCG (187) | Variety: | Asti (1) | Year: | 1998 | Producer: | Riccadonna | Region: | Italy | Rating: | good- | Web Site: | Not available | | The appearance was pale-med gold, with an excellent long lasting bead. The bouquet was light citrus, floral and sweet. There was a sweet apple fruit start, and light acid lemon balance. This is not a very "serious" wine, but sweet and balanced with a little bit of acid. It was smooth and delicious. An excellent example of this style, and something that can be enjoyed at Christmas time, even my non-wine drinkers! |
Note 1 I am not really a wine expert (just an enthusiastic amateur), so please don't take my recommendations as anything more than a rough guide to these wines. I can take no responsibility if you buy a lot, on my recommendation, and then regret it! Note 2 You may not agree with my evaluation of these wines as a lot of this is quite subjective. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on complexity and intense characteristic flavours and bouquet, so if you disagree you might just have different priorities.
