(Up to OJB's Styles Page) Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc 2006Tasted: | 22 Jul 2007 (age 1 year) | Name: | Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc (287) | Variety: | Sauvignon Blanc (15) | Year: | 2006 | Producer: | Saint Clair | Region: | Marlborough | Rating: | good | Web Site: | Not available | | The colour was very pale bright golden yellow. The bouquet showed sharp crisp citrus and grassy tropical fruit. There was a strong gooseberry, pineapple and tropical fruit taste, with stalky grass, and a very crisp acid finish. This was a very crisp, clean and quite complex wine, it was quite impressive. |
Note 1 I am not really a wine expert (just an enthusiastic amateur), so please don't take my recommendations as anything more than a rough guide to these wines. I can take no responsibility if you buy a lot, on my recommendation, and then regret it! Note 2 You may not agree with my evaluation of these wines as a lot of this is quite subjective. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on complexity and intense characteristic flavours and bouquet, so if you disagree you might just have different priorities.
