It is interesting to note the difference in the quality of photos over the years I have been going to these shows. Originally I used a film camera, and as digital cameras got better I used them more. I have used digital only more recently, of course.
Aircraft are difficult to photograph for two reasons: first, they often move very quickly and can be hard to keep up with; and second, they might be flying overhead, be viewed against a bright sky, or be at a significant distance.
I jave owned many different digital SLRs over the years, all of them Canon: an EOS350D, EOS500D, EOS650D, and now an EOS 70D.
Some of these cameras have a video mode, but it is difficult to get good focus. If you get it right though, the video quality is very good. Many of the videos on these pages are taken by others with small cameras, so the quality might not be great.
Many of the more recent photos on these pages are actually pretty good, so I am happy with them. Some of the older ones, not so much!
I usually write a blog post about once a week. The latest post can be viewed here: Think for Yourself: In the end, everything is just an opinion. Be skeptical, and think for yourself! (posted 2026-04-25 at 21:12:02). Or go to the Home Page of My Blog to choose a post to view.
