Comet Halley Observation

Using 30 cm Cassegrain and 7x50 binoculars.
Halleys comet observing:
Public night for comet partly cloudy, average sky.
Halley visible with naked eye.
Needed 7x50 and averted vision to see sign of tail.
Seems to be rapidly dimming.
