SMC Reset on Older Mac Desktops

For older Mac desktops, with no T2 chip, reset the SMC like this:

Shut down.
Unplug the power.
Wait 15 seconds.
Reconnect the power cord.
Wait 5 seconds.
Start the Mac normally.
