Here are some options for opening old ClarisWorks and AppleWorks files...
Method 1: Download and install LibreOffice which is available from https://www.libreoffice.org/. This is a free Microsoft Office alternative, and there are versions for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
LibreOffice can open ClarisWorks and AppleWorks documents (versions 5 and 6), but it might fail when opening complex documents with multiple components (for example, a single document with both word processing and spreadsheet components).
Method 2: The original version of Apple's Pages and Numbers could also do this, but the revised version of those programs (the current one available) has lost this ability.
Method 3: If the previous two options fail, you will need to install AppleWorks (or ClarisWorks) itself on an older Mac running and older OS (MacOSX 10.6 Snow Leopard is the latest version which supports it) or in a virtual machine on a more modern Mac. There are several emulation programs which allow you to do this. Probably the best, free option is UTM, here: https://mac.getutm.app/
