Parera is 16 kilometers from the start of the Central Otago Line and 54 meters above sea level. The house was a railway house but is now a holiday home. On the left, out of view, is the Taieri River.
You can see the train in front of me here, with the two DJ class diesel-electric locomotives at the front. This was an unusually long train with another five carriages behind me as well.
