Another view of the city with another well-known building, Coit Tower on the skyline. The central part of SF itself is quite compact and its possible to walk to many of the major landmarks in a short time. Lillie Hitchcock Coit left the money to build a monument to the city's fire fighters - which explains why the resulting tower, which was built in 1933, is shaped like a fire hose nozzle!
