Southern Alps

The Southern Alps are New Zealand's main mountain range which run the length of the South Island, about 800 kilometers (500 miles). The highest peak is Mount Cook, about 3700 meters, and there are several other significant mountains: Mount Tasman, Mount Aspiring, etc.
