We usually stop at Culverden on the way to Nelson for a coffee break. This is a photo of Nicole playing there, with the blue sky and clouds in the background. It was hot and windy in Canterbury, not so good for driving.
By using spot metering I got just the perfect exposure, despite the tricky bright sky in the background, and the blurring created by the hair blowing in the wind creates a bit of movement. This is one of my favourite photos of the kids - just a bit different from your standard portrait!
